Recounting the summer days.
May 30, 2008Within two weeks, it’s back to waking at a lousy 5 AM and getting to school at 7, then training at Club Gymnastica till 7 PM, then going home at eight and sleeping at 11 PM. Yep! That’s the life! Time for the black-and-white checked skirts and the blue-white blouses and black leather shoes.
Time for the notebooks, long lists of requirements and homework, and cramming.
Well.
I can say that it’s been a crazy and exciting summer. It seems like it’s been so long since the break started. Seriously. Two months ago, I barely even remember how thebreak started in the first place. All I know is that I trained a lot for the SACAC meet. More on that later.
I do remember my sister’s grand birthday, however. Twenty-third of March, at the DML Tent. Because of that we had no Subic/Clearwater trip. Oh well. That’s fine, because I’ve had enough traveling for an entire summer. Pinmk tablecloths, balloons, sugary cake, delicious pasta, everything a little girl dreams her seventh party to be like. I liked the chocolate fountain the most, however.
Moving on to April, it mostly was training and preparing for the SACAC meet in SIngapore. Passport-habol, DSWD clearance, going to DFA… toxic doesn’t even begin to describe it. Plus working on routines, conditioning till my body became sore… and deciding whether or not I really wanted to go. By the end of the month, everything was set. I wanted to go.
April 29, 2008, my birthday. A few days earlier I went to Eastwood with Pablo and Ria and Abby. Pretty boring, but Superhero Movie was pretty funny. We went bowling too. :> I didn’t really get many gifts, but I was happy just to be with people to celebrate it with.
On April 30, we left for Singapore. Training on the first of May, break on the 2nd, and competition proper on the 3rd. I got 6th place on bars and 7th on vault. Not bad for a beginner, I guess. In Singapore, we went to the Flyer, Esplanade, countless trips to Suntec, a five orten minute walk from the hotel, Raffles, Vivo City, and Sentosa. Ben & Jerry’s was the best. <3
And next, I went to Macau, I stayed at the Venetian Hotel with my tita and lola. Not much shopping, because designer brands were the only places to shop at. I mean, I can afford them, but they’re ridiculously priced for just one purpose. Seriously. One thing I learned though, is that it’s awesome to travel with a senior citizen. :> My lola, especially.
Then, after I came back, I was going to leave again for Malaysia, this time, on the next day.
My God. Country hopping.
There, I bought more stuff. Two pairs of Balenciaga shoes, pasalubong for our parents, brother, sister, and nephew, Chanel nail polish, the awesome Boo Boo Zap from Benefit… Isetan is love. So is Parkson’s. And I membered in Tang’s! :>
And so now I’m back, recounting my summer. So, you think I can use this for my essay? :>
